Freelance Web Designer
[Work at Home / Work From Home]

Posted By: Charlotte area on 2005-10-02

We are seeking a qualified freelance web designer located in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The project is expected to begin around the end of October.

We are asking that you live in the Charlotte area but you are welcome to telecommute.

Please do not reply unless you meet the following qualifications:

• You live in the Charlotte metropolitan area - anyone outside of the Charlotte metro will not be considered
• You have experience designing sites that are easy to use, load fast and comply with W3C web standards
• You know how to slice sites and hand-code HTML as easily as you breathe
• Your portfolio includes small-business and/or non-profit experience
• You design using the Adobe suite (ie. you can send your work in PSD format)
• You know the limitations of displaying HTML pages and know how to properly incorporate Flash, not abuse the use of Flash.

Bonus: You have an iSight.

Please send us:
• Your bio - Your resume is fine, but a short bio is preferred. We want to get to know you, not start an investigation on you.
• Your portfolio - Please include USABLE web sites. Sites with a ton of glitz and glam are fine but if they are useless or not easy to navigate, keep them for wowing others. We're not impressed by that.
• Your hourly rate - Be reasonable and don't underbid yourself. If you are really good and can turn around a great design in little time, you're worth a higher rate.
• Your average time to complete a basic site design - A site map/wireframe, front page and design. Just an estimate. This isn't calculus.
• Your availability/lead time before you can start any project.

This is a contract position. At a later date, permanent employment may be considered.

No staffing or placement agencies will be considered. Principals only.

Thank you for your consideration.
