The company, best known for its Tom’s Hardware Guide site, targets “grassroots technologists”—the huge population of technology early adopters who have grown up on video games, computers and gadgets—and have an insatiable need for more. They are avid buyers of technology themselves, and influence major technology purchases for the workplace and at home.
TGP is actively recruiting a Director of Online Sales to manage and develop its regional online advertising sales. The successful candidate will report to the VP, Sales and Marketing.
The job calls for:
* Leadership and experience in online advertising sales
* Experience and relationships with advertisers that target TGP's audience
* The ability to create and implement successful integrated campaigns
* The ability to forge strong relationships with companies that would benefit from reaching TGP's large and desired demographic.
* The ability to communicate strategies, tactics, and plans within TGP's sales and marketing group.
* Account management and handling and response to RFPs, as well as developing original promotional ideas at the client and agency level.
* Developing a new client base across a lucrative and large territory.
The suitable candidate will have:
* At least 5+ years of sales experience in an online environment.
* Ideally the candidate has existing relationships and experience within the market and can hit the ground running.
* College degree plus the equivalent in work experience in sales.
* Self-motivated and detail orientated with previous experience working in a fast paced sales environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Superior presentation and closing skills.
* Experience with MS office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
